Quick start: build your first Locator
Create a small working location directory from provider setup through embedding.
1. Choose a map provider
Open Velox Map Locator → Map Providers. For a simple first test, OpenStreetMap Standard avoids API-key configuration.
2. Create sample Locations
Add three to five Locations with valid latitude and longitude values. Use realistic names and addresses so search and filtering are meaningful.
3. Add classification
Create Types or Groups when visitors need to filter the directory. Examples include Office, Store, Service Centre or geographic/business groupings.
4. Create a Locator
Choose which Locations the Locator should use, select a layout, configure map behavior, then enable only the search and filters visitors actually need.
5. Publish and embed
Publish the Locator and insert it using the Velox Map Locator block or the shortcode shown in the Locator workflow.
6. Test the public page
Verify marker/card synchronization, search, filters, Near Me if enabled, map controls, business status and responsive behavior. Test narrow page-builder columns as well as full-width desktop pages.
