Configure OpenStreetMap Standard

Use the built-in OpenStreetMap/Leaflet option and understand its external tile requests.

OpenStreetMap Standard is the simplest provider for a first Locator because it does not require a Google API key.

How it works

Velox Map Locator bundles Leaflet 1.9.4 locally. When an OpenStreetMap-backed map is displayed, the visitor’s browser requests raster tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org.

Configuration

  1. Open Map Providers.
  2. Make OpenStreetMap Standard available for your Locators.
  3. Choose it as the global default in Settings or select it in an individual Locator.
  4. Publish and verify map attribution on the public page.

Service responsibilities

The public OpenStreetMap tile service has its own usage policy. High-traffic or specialized deployments should evaluate whether another tile service is more appropriate. Velox Map Locator displays required attribution but does not operate the tile service.
