What is the difference between a Location and a Locator?
A Location stores one place and its data. A Locator chooses which Locations to show and controls their public layout, provider, filters, content, styling, behavior and privacy.
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
No. OpenStreetMap Standard and administrator-configured Custom XYZ providers are alternatives. Google Maps requires your own browser API key and Map ID.
Does Velox Map Locator send data to Velox servers?
No. There is no Velox telemetry or account requirement. External requests occur only when configured functionality uses an external map service.
Does Near Me store visitor location?
No. Geolocation is requested after visitor action and distance calculation happens in the browser.
Can I delay external map requests?
Yes. Require the visitor to click Load Map.
Can I show a directory without a map?
Yes. Use List Only.
How do I embed a Locator?
Use the Gutenberg block or .
Can I import Locations from CSV?
Yes. The importer supports mapping, validation preview, confirmation, chunked writes and External ID update/create behavior.
