Types

Types are useful for classifications visitors understand, such as Office, Store, Dealer, Service Centre or Kiosk. A Location can use a Primary Type, which can also participate in marker styling.

Groups

Groups provide another organizational dimension and can be hierarchical. They are useful for regions, networks, internal groupings or other structures that do not fit the Type model.

Public filters

The Locator Builder can expose Type and Group filters. Use concise labels and avoid creating classifications with only one member unless they genuinely help visitors.

CSV portability

CSV workflows use portable Type slugs and hierarchical Group slug paths. Stable slugs make bulk updates more predictable across environments.
