Choosing a map provider

Compare OpenStreetMap Standard, Google Maps and Custom XYZ profiles.

A Locator can use different mapping services depending on your requirements. Choose the provider before fine-tuning map controls and styling.

OpenStreetMap Standard

Uses locally bundled Leaflet 1.9.4 for map interaction and requests raster tiles from the OpenStreetMap public tile service. It does not require a Google API key.

Google Maps

Uses the Google Maps JavaScript API. You provide a browser API key and Map ID and remain responsible for Google Cloud configuration, restrictions, billing and applicable terms.

Custom XYZ

Lets an administrator create reusable HTTP(S) raster tile profiles. This is useful when an organization uses another compatible tile provider or its own tile infrastructure.

List Only

If a directory does not need a map, use List Only. Map libraries and external map-provider requests are not needed for that layout.
