Location

A Location represents one place. It can hold structured address data, latitude/longitude, contacts, business hours, images, marker choices, additional fields and classification through Types and Groups.

Locator

A Locator is a reusable display configuration. It chooses the Location source and controls layout, map provider, map controls, search, filters, card content, appearance, behavior and privacy.

Why the separation matters

Suppose one branch should appear in a public “All Offices” directory, a “Middle East Offices” directory and a campaign landing page. You create the branch once as a Location, then reuse it in multiple Locators with different layouts and filters. Updating the branch record keeps those presentations consistent.

A practical rule

If you are editing facts about a place, edit the Location. If you are changing how a directory looks or behaves, edit the Locator.
