Velox Featured Image for Elementor overview
What the plugin does, the three tools it adds to Elementor, and when to use each one.
Velox Featured Image for Elementor connects the native WordPress Featured Image to Elementor without requiring Elementor Pro or a large addon suite. You continue assigning Featured Images in WordPress; Velox resolves the image dynamically when Elementor renders the current content item.
What the plugin adds
- Featured Image widget — places the current Featured Image directly inside Elementor content.
- Featured Image Background — uses the current Featured Image as the background of supported Elementor Containers and legacy Sections.
- Featured Hero — creates a complete hero/banner with the current image plus dynamic or custom text and an optional call to action.
What stays native to WordPress
The image assignment itself remains the normal WordPress Featured Image. Velox does not create a second image field, a separate media relationship, or plugin-owned content records. Change the Featured Image on a post or page and the Elementor output follows that change dynamically.
Typical uses
Use Velox for post images, page-title banners, documentation headers, blog and portfolio heroes, landing-page headers, and thumbnail-enabled custom post types rendered through Elementor.
Scope
Velox is intentionally Elementor-focused. It does not replace theme-controlled title bars rendered outside Elementor, and it does not modify unsupported Elementor internals merely to expose additional controls.
