Background source and fallback behavior
Understand the priority between the current Featured Image, a Velox fallback, and the saved Elementor background.
The background feature is designed to fail gracefully when a current Featured Image is not available.
Source priority
- The current content item’s WordPress Featured Image is used when available.
- If it is missing and a Velox fallback image is configured, the fallback can be used.
- If neither dynamic source is available, the element can retain its original Elementor background.
Why the saved Elementor background is preserved
Velox does not need to overwrite the design stored by Elementor merely to render a dynamic image. This keeps the layout easier to edit and provides a predictable visual fallback.
