Alt text and image accessibility

Choose accessible image behavior and make sure the Featured Image communicates the right information.

Image accessibility depends on what the image means in the layout. A decorative image and an informative image should not necessarily expose the same alternative text.

Use meaningful Media Library alt text

When the image conveys information, give the Media Library attachment concise alternative text that describes the meaningful content or purpose of the image.

Avoid duplicate announcements

If the Featured Image is purely decorative or repeats nearby text without adding information, use the widget’s accessibility options to avoid unnecessary duplicate screen-reader output.

Do not place critical text inside the image

For hero titles, labels, prices, instructions, or calls to action, use real Elementor text rather than baking important text into the Featured Image.

Linked images

If you make the image a link, ensure the link purpose remains understandable from the surrounding context and accessible name.
