The three Velox tools use the same WordPress Featured Image but solve different layout problems.

Use Featured Image when

• the image should be a normal content element;
• you need image-specific alt text, caption, link, sizing, or styling controls;
• the image should participate in the document flow.

Use Featured Image Background when

• you already have an Elementor Container or legacy Section;
• the image should sit behind existing title, breadcrumb, or other content;
• you want to keep the element’s saved Elementor background available as a fallback.

Use Featured Hero when

• you want a complete hero/banner in one widget;
• the heading should follow the current page/post title or use custom text;
• you need optional pre-heading, sub-heading, description, and CTA controls.

Reusable templates

For templates used by many pages, the important principle is the same: build the Elementor structure once and let each page provide its own native WordPress Featured Image.
